In addition to the production of the tank itself, the scene platform is also a very important part of the tank model. A relatively simple scene platform production tutorial, I hope it will be helpful to new tank enthusiasts~
First of all, we need to plan how big the scene platform will be, and based on this, we will choose a photo frame of about the same size. The platform made this time is the size of A4 paper, which can just fit a Type 4 D tank.
ABS modified board, also commonly known as rubber board. Take a 1-2MM thick board and cut it into a size that can be placed on the photo frame. Do not use a plastic board that is too thin, otherwise it is likely to undulate or dent after one or two years of thermal expansion and contraction.
Next let’s do it on the plastic board firstprocessing. "A No. 4 D-type tank passes through the countryside and heads to another strategic city." We can first make such a setting. Since the setting is a suburban scene, it must be a dirt land with some undulations. Use PVC boards to lay out the basic undulations, which can be attached with double-sided tape or 502.
This step of attaching the PVC board is not very demanding, but it is best to use a knife to cut the edge into a slope shape, which can make the subsequent process smoother.
Apply AB plastic filler soil on top to create a natural undulating land shape. The main thing is to cover all the lower PVC plates.
Some friends will think that using so much AB to fill the soil in this step is wasteful and consider lithopone or paper clay, but I can tell you responsibly that lithopone and paper clay are definitely not as easy to use as you think. It is recommended that you first become proficient in using AB soil, which is relatively simple to operate, and then try other materials, not to mention that Sao Tome soil is actually very cheap.
Before filling the soil and hardening it, use the tracks of the tank to press out traces. Make the marks as deep as possible, and be careful not to reverse the direction of the tracks.
After drying, sand it with coarse sandpaper. Because I was making Gundam before, the coarsest sandpaper at home is only 400 grit. . . After grinding for a long time, it is recommended to use the coarsest one!
This thing. . . I believe that many players who have entered the crater will collect it. . . This is - waste paint can be used as water to replenish soil when making floors.
Think about how wasteful it would be if it were all water to replenish soil. . .
Use an old toothbrush to spread the waste paint evenly on the floor and wait for it to dry.
After the waste paint is dry, the formal painting work can begin. Spray a darker earthy color first.
Then we can use the protagonist of the platform production materials - natural soil ~ I use the natural soil from Spanish AV, and combine it with natural soil (2): white latex (1): water (2 ) are mixed in proportion.
Apply to the floor as quickly as possible. Natural soil dries quickly in summer. Applying too slowly will cause unevenness.
Apply after the first layer is dry. Generally, 3 layers is enough.
After the natural soil coating is completely dry, stick a little white latex to the tip of the pen, dip it in the old soil, and wipe out some soil fragments on the surface of the platform.
Then the grass is attached. There are many choices for model materials for making hay, but friends who have an oven at home can also choose to bake real grass as a material like me. Bake at 60 degrees for 2 hours and it will be completely dry.
Use white latex to attach the hay material to the floor.
Apply some natural soil to make the hay blend better with the scene~
Do you still remember our picture frame? I painted it in sandalwood color. Of course, this is a color determined based on the content of the scene platform.
Finally, use glass glue or hot melt glue to attach the platform to the picture frame~ Doesn’t it instantly look high-end and foreign~The production of basic scene platforms is so simple~
