Luigi Prina, an 83-year-old Italian man, has been trying to hand-make various fantasy-shaped models that can actually fly for the past 20 years.
The seeds of this dream were sown when he was very young. At the age of 16, he won a national airplane model competition. One day 50 years later, Luigi met a shipbuilder, and they made a bet whether the ship could fly. He accepted the challenge, and soon a model ship was flying in his studio. From then on, he became a model ship. I kept at it. The model is made of lightweight paper and wood to reduce weight. The final product weighs only 20-50 grams. The propeller is driven by an elastic rubber belt.
