I work alone in other places. During my breaks, I watch videos and listen to songs on my mobile phone every day. In the end, my eyes are sore and my ears hurt. In order to return to a healthy lifestyle, I picked up my favorite handmade products again. Make a robot out of old keyboards and mice, and all you need is a hot melt glue gun.
——Use the simplest, most common, and most inconspicuous things to make small things that you are satisfied with and that your children like. All you need is to use your brain to come up with a good idea, but what you get is a happy smile on your child’s face. smile.
The weather has been hot recently. In order to stick a screen on the dormitory window, I bought a hot melt glue gun (30W) online, which came with 60 hot melt glue sticks (7mm).
I had nothing to do with a hot-melt glue gun, so I saw an old computer keyboard in the office. There are 3 keyboards in total, and the key grids are white, light yellow, and black. Because it’s a bad keyboard, I can’t choose the color. Besides, considering the different colors, it’s easy to decorate and match it. Removing the button grid is very simple, just pry it off with a flat-blade screwdriver.
The removed key grid needs to be cleaned. I used dish soap and boiled hot water, soaked all the keyboard grids in it, waited for the water to cool naturally, then scrubbed it with my hands, rinsed it with tap water, and dried it with an old towel.
Try to buckle two key grids of the same size together opposite each other. As long as the small raised column on the back of the key grid does not hinder the snapping together, you can leave it alone. Otherwise, you need to use a knife to stick it in the gap, and then use Clamp it with needle-nose pliers and twist it left and right to twist it off. I repaired the back of part of the black keyboard grid into a flat surface for exterior decoration.
Install the glue stick in the hot melt glue gun, plug in the power supply, and turn on the switch for use. The 30W hot melt glue gun I used, after waiting for about two minutes, the glue came out normally.
Pair the scrap keyboard "letter keys" in pairs, apply sol to one of them with the muzzle of a hot melt glue gun, snap the two together opposite each other, press them with your fingers for more than ten seconds, and put them on the table to wait for natural cooling.
ProductionAfter making a batch of interlocking small squares, you can initially make the robots feet and legs according to the shape you want. Pay attention to maintaining balance. Don't worry about the glue not being good or the shape not being good. If you glue it wrongly, use a knife to pry it apart. The solidified sol will melt when it is touched with the muzzle of an electrically heated gun for a while.
According to your own shape design, stick it as much as you want, and initially prepare the body structure. The key is to maintain balance. The robots feet can be glued to a few more "Enter keys" and other large button grids to increase the contact surface. After completing the structure, if you are satisfied with the shape, use sol to reinforce it to ensure that it can stand without falling apart.
After the initial work, it felt rather monotonous, so I found two more broken mice and a broken flashlight with a plastic casing. Unscrew the mouse screws, disassemble the wheel, casing, etc., and then clean them with dish soap.
The small flashlight is disassembled and only the plastic part is kept for use. Mainly because of the brightly colored orange casing, and the plastic ring on the lamp head is also good, like an Autobot tire shape.
Use the two arcuate surfaces of the mouse as shoulder armor, the horizontal surface as outer knee armor, and insert the two wheels on the waist for decoration.
The flashlight shell can be used as shoulder or arm armor. I glued the plastic ring of the lamp head to the back. At this time, the repaired black button grid can be used for exterior decoration. The main purpose of sticking it on three sides of the legs is to strengthen it and prevent the center of gravity from falling.
The following is a top view.
The following is a side view. If there are any remaining key spaces, you can decorate the mouse surface on your knees.
This is a detailed picture of the upper body. The flashlights sliding button switch is decorated in the center of the chest armor, and the rubber band on the right hand is tied with a black ring made of the smallest 12 buttons.
Okay, when you're done, pay attention to sol reinforcement. Hold the robot forward and backward in your hands, and add sol to the upper and lower parts of the joint surface to bond firmly. In this way, a majestic robot is ready.
Notes:
1. Pay attention to ventilation during the entire production process. Originally, I did not choose to use computer metal parts for health reasons, but there was still a smell during the sol bonding process.
2. This robot was made using 30 sticks of hot melt glue. The button grids on the robots feet can also be filled with sol to increase weight and help maintain balance of the center of gravity. Before adding glue to fix it, be sure to prevent it from falling, otherwise it will fall apart.
3. The button grid is small, and the sol is relatively hot when bonding. Sometimes it will hurt when it touches the hand. It is not recommended for young children to make it.
