Foam board is a good material for sculpture modeling. It is lightweight and easy to modify the shape. Two pieces of the same size foam wrap were used to secure the lamp stand and begin to sculpt the base of the elephant.

Create a plaster mold to create a hard, smooth outer layer.
Use 400-grit sandpaper to polish the surface of the gypsum layer until it is fine and smooth.
