Former Yugoslavia: Postmodern Monumental Sculpture

In the 1960s and 1970s, Tito, the leader of the former Yugoslav Republic during the Cold War, built many structures in the former Yugoslav Republic in order to show the world the power and image of the socialist country. Now it seems quite post-modern, even Sci-fi monumental sculpture. Today, these works are scattered in Slovenia, Serbia and other countries after the disintegration of Yugoslavia, and gradually become ruins. Photo by Jan Kempenaers.
