Distressed ceramic works: simulated corrugated paper and metal cans are extremely realistic

In the eyes of ordinary people, such as flattened tin cans, torn cardboard and moldy Polaroid photos, which would be discarded as waste, in the eyes of ceramic artist Tim Kowalczyk, they have a special sense of beauty. , because of the wrinkles, creases and other traces left by the years, it has a special charm.

The "Please Handle With Care" series of works created by Kowalczyk deliberately aged and wrinkled the ceramic works, completely breaking away from the traditional appearance of ceramics.

Kowalczyk said that ceramics’ ability to replicate forms, textures, and surfaces is what draws him to continue to create with ceramics.

Although he said that, I saw that he could simulate corrugated paper, metal, mugs and tiles with the texture of Polaroid photos, and even wrinkles, water marks, tape marks on corrugated paper, and tin cans. The rust marks and the mold on the Polaroid photos are all lifelike. It is still surprising to see his ability to create cross-border creations with different materials.
