Jon Almeda’s miniature ceramic creations, mini thumb-drawn embryos

Jon Almeda’s miniature ceramic creations, mini thumb-drawn embryos

At first glance, the hand-drawn pottery created by Washington artist Jon Almeda does not seem to be much different from ordinary pottery. It is not until you stretch out your fingers to compare the size of the pottery that you will be surprised by his dexterity and hand-drawn pottery. Keep a steady hand.

Almeda uses a tailor-made drawing machine to create vases, bowls and even teapots that are only one inch in size, even though these pottery looks very fragile and will break when pulled. We had to be extremely careful during the process, but unexpectedly it survived the high-temperature firing process and became the finished product in front of everyone. Since the pulling machine is custom-made, it is more conducive for Almeda to accurately control the force and use skills such as modification and shaping.
