Rubber stamps must be a small craft that many children like. As long as you prepare an eraser and a carving knife, you can make stamps with different patterns. The materials are simple and easy to learn, so why not be popular! The following rubber stamp tutorial is suitable for those who are new to rubber stamp DIY as an introductory tutorial. It briefly introduces some rubber stamp engraving techniques. If you are interested, come and try it!
Material preparation:
1. Rubber brick 1 piece
2. 1 piece of white paper
Tool preparation:
1. Pencil 1
2.X—1 ACTO knife
3. 1 cutting knife
4. Engraving knife 1 set
5. Ink pad 1 box
Production steps:
Step one: Trace the outline of the eraser on the white paper and draw as close to the edge of the paper as possible.
Step 2: Design a pattern within the box on the white paper. The black part is retained, and the white part needs to be carved out.
Step 3: Cover the drawn pattern on the eraser.
Step 4: Press with the tip of a pencil, being careful not to shift the paper. If the mark on the eraser is not obvious, you can use a pencil to make the pattern more obvious for easier engraving.
Step 5: Before engraving, use a carving knife to cut shallow cuts on the edge of the main body of the pattern, including the line edges.
Step 6: First use the smallest triangular engraving knife to carve grooves on the edge of the main body of the pattern to ensure that the main body of the pattern will not be damaged when using a large triangular engraving knife.
Step 7: Then use a larger triangular carving knife to carve out the white part in the middle.
Step 8: Then use a U-shaped carving knife to carve away the unnecessary white parts around the pattern.
Step 9: Next, you can test the effect. Dip in paint and print it on white paper to see.
Step 10: Considering the beauty, you can use the eraser to trim the outlines of various shapes without damaging the main body of the pattern.
Additional things to note:
1. Carve the internal details of the rubber stamp first, then the larger areas.
2. Be gentle when cutting. Don't carve deeply all at once, but carve it bit by bit.
3. Turn your rubber brick, not the tool.
4. Don’t be impatient, be patient and take your time.
