1 Materials and Tools
Ultra-light clay: red, yellow and blue (can be mixed to produce various colors), black and white (adjustable brightness)
Styrofoam ball
Awl
Painting pen
Scissors
Iron wire
2 Flamingos
Flamingo is relatively easy, serving as an introductory tutorial for the trilogy
PS: This tutorial was all taken at night under fluorescent lights. The quality of the photos is affected and there is serious color aberration. Please forgive me.
1. Prepare a flesh-red clay (can be mixed with red + appropriate amount of white + trace amount of yellow) and four Styrofoam balls.Wrap the sphere like a glutinous rice ball, remembering to use a small pin to deflate it from time to time to prevent uneven shape.
2. Knead the red clay into a drop shape and cover it on the ball made in step 1, and draw a ridge line in the middle of the back.
3. Use the backbone line as the reference for the left and right sides, and use any round pen-like thing around you to press out the shape of the wings. Next, you need to let it dry for half a day before proceeding to the next step.
4. After drying, stick a small ball of clay on the head, bend the head as shown, dry for a while and stick on the black mouth.
5. Glue the other head shape with clay in the same way (slightly longer than step 4). Let it dry for a while and glue the pointed mouth part. Then dry it for a while and glue the black mouth. You don’t need to dry it anymore and glue it directly with white clay. For the eyes, let them dry for a while and then paint the eyes with a water pen.
6. Wrap flesh-red clay on the wire (remember not to wrap both ends to facilitate joining the legs and body) to complete the flamingos matchstick-like legs (actually thinner than a matchstick...) Dang Damn it! Your flamingo lollipop is finished~~ Take a quick lick (error)
3 Zebra
1. Cover the surface of the styrofoam ball with white clay and roughly outline the four sides.Four legs.
2. Make the prototype of the neck and head on the head as shown in the picture, and cover the rough outline of the head with white clay.
3. Spray a large amount of water into the white clay to make it appear creamy, and use this clay to cover the whole body to form a smoother surface.
4. Subtract the excess part of the legs and glue them with black clay to make hooves; roll out the white clay and cut out the mane as shown in the picture.
5. Roll out the black clay and use scissors to cut it into strips and cover it on the fat zebra.
6. Use a pen to draw the ridge line on its back (as shown in the picture) and roll out the ears as shown in the picture.
7. Cover the wire with white clay and glue the black tail on it, then splice all the above steps together to complete.
4 Crocodiles
1. Just like the flamingo and zebra tutorial, wrap the styrofoam ball with gray clay, glue a cone shape on one section of the ball and let it dry.
2. Apply clay to the upper part of this part and smooth it out; make the other part into a shape like a birds head, and quickly cut out the mouth with scissors while it is still dry. Keep filling in the chin and tip of the mouth with the same color clay to create the shape as shown and let it dry.
3. After the previous steps are dry, fill a small ball of clay on the head, use the pen part to press out an inverted T shape as shown in the picture, spread it carefully, and poke a small hole in the raised position on both sides. This will make it easier to determine the position of the eyes later.
4. Prepare a piece of dark gray-brown clay and roll it out for use. Use the rolled-out clay piece to cover the crocodile. Carefully apply the clay to uneven areas and spread it as evenly as possible.
5. Press out some small round pieces from dark gray clay (the picture looks a little disgusting, haha). After drying, cut out about 1/3 of the size. Apply water to the crocodiles back and stick them piece by piece to create a texture. As shown.
6. I don’t need to say much about the forked wire part. Just cover it with clay and you can easily make the short legs of the fat crocodile.
7. Remove the tip of the short leg, glue a round head on it and continue to air dry. This tutorial is to repeat the process of filling the clay and spreading it evenly. The trick is to be patient and apply it little by little. . Fill the round head with a little clay, and use the corners of a business card (any thicker paper can achieve the same effect) to carefully press out the shape of the foot.
8. Use the head of a telescopic ballpoint pen to press out a circular depression, and fill in the whites of the crocodiles eyes with the bulge in the middle. Continue filling in the areas you feel are not convex enough with clay until you are satisfied.
9. White, light blue, and blue colors are kneaded together as the base (this uneven feeling is more like the flow of water). Just draw eyes and teeth for the crocodile.
