The slightly retro locomotive can not only be used as an ornament, but also has a motor and battery box designed inside. It can run as long as it is connected to the power source! It is a bit difficult to make a small technological production. If you really like it, you can also try it. Give it a try!~
Cut the cardboard and start making the body of the locomotive.
Cut the cardboard into this shape.
Cut out the window. The middle circle should also be cut off.
Used to reach into the round part of the front of the locomotive.
Make it look like this by folding and pasting.
Paste a smaller paper tube at the front.
A cardboard roof is glued to the top of the locomotive.
Add electric motor, gears and battery box.
I took a motor from some old toys and used some gears and a metal shaft to drive the rear wheel.
3 volts is enough power, 1 AA battery will do, but 2 would be better.
Connect the wires from the battery box to the motor.
The battery box and body are pasted.
Initially, I envisioned the LED light being powered by a 3-volt coin cell battery, with its own switch.
But then I changed it to also run on 2 double AA batteries.
You can start making wheels.
The front wheel is completed with bamboo sticks and bottle caps.
The front wheels must be able to rotate, while the rear wheels are the driving wheels. I made the wheels out of cardboard.
Do the chimney and other details.
Detail of the front of the locomotive.
Spray paint.
You can also use cardboard to make decorative strips and wheel drive shafts, and you're done~
