Steps for making handmade essential oil soap
Cutting the soap base
Take an appropriate amount of soap base and cut it into small pieces. You can cut it into cubes, strips, shreds, etc. in whatever shape you want. The purpose of cutting it into small pieces is to speed up melting, so the smaller it is, the faster it melts. No matter how it is cut, it is recommended that each piece be of the same size so that when heated, part of the soap base will not be overheated and the other part will not melt. You can also buy soap base already cut into small pieces.
Heat and melt the soap base
The transparent soap base begins to melt at about 60 degrees. It is usually heated in a water bath or microwave to melt it. The purpose of water bath heating is to prevent the soap base from scorching. If you want to heat it directly, you must turn the heat to a very low level and be careful to avoid scorching at all times! When heating, just use low heat, and the water temperature does not need to be too high. If you see the water starting to bubble or even boil, it means the water temperature is too high. You should quickly turn down the heat or turn it off temporarily.
Coloring
If you want the essential oil soap to have color, you can add pigments, but it is recommended not to Just add it naturally. If you want to make your essential oil soap look beautiful, you can add flower petals or lemon peel cut into strips.
Add essential oils
What essential oils to add: You can add single essential oils according to your own preferences, such as Lavender essential oil, tea tree essential oil, and rose essential oil are all good choices.
How much essential oil to add: The amount of essential oil added is about 0.5% to 2% of the soap. A half cup of soap in a small steel cup is about 100ML, so it can Add 10 to 40 drops of essential oil (1ML is about 20 drops).

Modeling
Pour the prepared soap solution into the mold. The mold must be washed and dried in advance. These soaps will solidify in about 1 hour. If you want the soap to solidify quickly, you can put them in the refrigerator or freeze them and they will solidify in about 15 minutes to half an hour.
Removal
After the essential oil soap is completely solidified, it can be removed from the mold. The silicone mold is relatively soft and is easier to demould. First gently pull the four sides of the mold, and then the essential oil soap can be poured out.
Modification
If there are a lot of bubbles on the essential oil soap, or there are other reasons that need to be modified When cleaning, you can use the back of a disposable plastic knife or a dry rag or toilet paper to modify it. Use a plastic knife to scrape off the unsightly parts, and then wipe with a dry rag or toilet paper to soften the lines of the essential oil soap.
Storage
If the modified essential oil soap is left in the air, it will be stored the next day or later. There will be small water droplets on the surface for a few days, which will affect the appearance of the essential oil soap. In order to avoid or reduce the formation of small water droplets, essential oil soap needs to be wrapped in plastic wrap or a sealed bag immediately after preparation and stored in a cool, dry place.
