After raising a cactus, are you looking forward to it blooming with cactus flowers? But sometimes, no matter how well you take care of it, the cactus just won’t bloom. So what are the tips to make cactus bloom?
Reasons why cactus cannot bloom early:
A. It is related to the germplasm, that is, the years required for different species to bloom vary greatly. The short ones only take 2 to 3 years after sowing, and the long ones take 20 to 30 years or more.
B. It is related to sunlight, temperature, fertilizer and reproduction methods.
Tips for getting your cactus to bloom early:
1. Temperature: The suitable temperature for cactus is generally 20-30 degrees, and it is best if the temperature difference between day and night is appropriately large to avoid the continuous sweltering heat in summer. When the temperature is around 35, most species grow slowly. If it exceeds 38 degrees, it will enter hibernation. The temperature in winter should be at least 5 degrees above so that there will be no cold damage.
2. Lighting: Lighting is very important. The cultivation conditions need to be at an appropriate temperature. When there is not much rain, try to cultivate them outdoors. There is a ventilated environment with high ultraviolet rays, which is conducive to the healthy growth of the plants and their early maturity and flowering age. .
3. Culture soil: The soil should be as nutritious, breathable and fluffy as possible, which is best for the development of plant root systems and helps plants absorb water and air.
4. Moisture: Watering should be appropriate. Excessive watering will cause the roots to become moldy and rotten.rotten. For general terrestrial species, watering should be strictly controlled during the dormant period to keep the pot soil slightly moist but not too dry. In winter, when the room temperature reaches above 15℃, watering can be normal. When the room temperature is between 5 and 10°C, water it once every half month. If it is below 5°C, the water can be completely stopped. From April to June, watering can be done every 1 to 2 days. When the temperature exceeds 38°C to 40°C from July to August, the plants are forced to go dormant. Ventilation should be strengthened, watering should be controlled, and normal watering should be resumed after the autumn cools.
5. Fertilizer: Pay attention to fertilizing during the growing season, which can promote plant growth and flowering as soon as possible. Stop fertilizing when the temperature is higher than 32 degrees or below 20 degrees to avoid damaging the root system and causing death. Fertilizers can be chicken manure, horse manure, etc. Cow dung, cake fertilizer, bone meal, etc. should be diluted and poured after being fully decomposed. However, care should be taken not to let the fertilizer liquid splash on the plants, otherwise the palms or balls may easily rot. In addition, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate or double superphosphate solution can be appropriately poured. Special attention should be paid when fertilizing. Newly potted plants, plants with poor growth, and plants with poorly developed root systems should not be fertilized. Do not apply organic fertilizer that has not been fully fermented, and do not apply broth or vegetable soup that contains salt.
