The first handmade tutorial to be introduced in today’s handmade fabric art column is the production of funny stationery bags. The stationery bag has a cartoon shape and bright colors. The bag opening is opened and closed with a zipper. It is very suitable for little girls to carry pencils, crayons, erasers, etc. For specific DIY methods for stationery bags, please refer to the illustrated tutorial below.
Stationery bag DIY materials:
Red PV imitation leather fabric, 9-inch zipper, 2 buttons, and various colored corner pieces.
Stationery bag DIY steps:
1) Cut the PV leather to 9.25×6.25 inches, 2 pieces in total, front and back;
2) Use a pen to draw the location of the zipper on the front piece, with a length of about 6.75 inches and a width of about 1/2 inch;
3) Use transparent tape to secure the zipper to the front piece;
4) Sew on the zipper. If the zipper is too long, you need to cut off the excess at the end;
5) Cut 2 small round pieces from the felt scraps, sew them above the zipper, and sew 2 buttons. Now, the front piece looks like a cartoon character avatar. Let’s continue to perfect the avatar shape;
6) Find a piece of soft scrap fabric, cut some small strips of fabric from it, sew it on the front piece as hair, then make a bow and sew it on top. An exaggerated and funny stationery bag is finished.
