What do you eat in the morning? From butter or cream cheese to a variety of jams and jellies, spreading bread with your favorite condiments is an easy breakfast for most people. But for Japanese designer Manami Sasaki, baking is a time to slow down and get creative. Every morning, she uses a slice of bread as a canvas to create an incredible breakfast that looks absolutely stunning.
Sasaki drew inspiration from Japanese tradition to create a Zen garden-style toast art based on sour cream. Matcha powder was used to represent moss, while macadamia nuts and walnuts were strategically placed to look like rocks. Sasaki also created toast inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer. This considerate foodie filled the "cracks" in the bread with edible gold foil.
