Food is no longer just for eating, especially when you're as talented as food designer De Meal Prepper. Her animal-inspired plate designs reach the level of works of art. She combines rice, pureed vegetables and spices to create a variety of adorable three-dimensional portraits.
De Meal Prepper’s food is both realistic and painterly. Doing either of these is not an easy task. To blend in with all the colors and textures on a single plate, the food artist used spices as pigments to make the shadows appear darker and the highlights brighter. For animals with unique markings, such as tigers, spices can also help showcase those characteristics.
