Blondie + Rye’s Baker Hannah P. uses bread as an unconventional canvas for her artwork. She carved decorative patterns into the surface of the bread and couldn't bear to eat it when it came out of the oven. But, as any carb lover knows, bread tastes best when its freshly baked and still warm (no matter how beautiful it is).

Blondie + Rye is Hannahs side project. "I started baking about five years ago when my coworker gave me a Dutch oven and a simple no-knead recipe," she says, a high school history teacher. "A few months later, I created a sculpted blondie and never looked back."

Hannah also decorated the bread with colorful vegetables.
