The use of decorative patterns in Chinese folk paper-cutting
Due to its special way of expressing patterns, folk paper-cutting determines the use of unique decorative patterns. The following patterns are often used in paper-cutting:
(l)Zigzag pattern: This pattern is the most widely used among paper-cut works. According to the definition, the shape of the pattern can be known as the teeth.
This kind of pattern is characterized by strong decorative flavor, strong layering, rich changes, straight lines with curves, curves with straight lines, interspersed with each other and blending with each other, which can make the patterns well complement each other.
(2) Crescent lines: This is another pattern widely used in paper-cutting. It plays a decisive role in the overall composition of the pattern and is also an effective supplement to the use of sawtooth. It is named after its characteristic shape that resembles a crescent moon.
