Let me talk about some personal experiences in paper-cutting teaching:
First of all, in terms of teaching content, we will first focus on teaching materials to let students master the paper-cutting knowledge in the teaching materials, and then combine the self-edited paper-cutting content for teaching.
As the saying goes: "Interest is the best teacher", and naturally it is also the best key. So in the first stage, I first arouse students' interest in paper-cutting. Students' physical and mental development is the result of the interaction of environment, education and internal factors of the persons body and mind. In teaching, only by arousing students' interest can we mobilize students' learning initiative and enthusiasm. Therefore, I often combine teaching practice and use a variety of teaching methods to let students appreciate the paper-cut works of paper-cut artists and outstanding students with certain characteristics. During the appreciation process, I introduce the origin, development, characteristics, significance and role of paper-cut art to students. , and demonstrated the basic techniques of paper-cutting on the spot in class. Arouse students' interest, give students the key to wisdom, and guide students into the palace of wisdom and art. Then, according to the principles of low starting point and slow speed of paper-cutting teaching, the teaching is organized step by step from simple to complex, from easy to difficult. Paper-cut teaching must start from two aspects: painting creation and hand-making. First, students must be trained to cut straight lines, carve straight lines, cut curves, and carve curves. Because paper-cutting pays attention to knife skills, the knife interest formed by the folding and symmetrical treatment of paper-cutting also gives people a good aesthetic feeling. There are four commonly used knife methods: square, round, hard, and soft. Due to the different content of the work, the expression method will be different, so this is an essential training in paper-cut painting. (You can refer to related paper-cutting tutorials) For example: We have constructed a pattern of a girl looking down at a book in the reading room. At this stage, we only need to cut out the shape. At most, we can carve out the boundary between the hair and the face. Pay attention to the smoothness of the lines. . This is a simple expression method that simplifies the interior and strengthens the outline based on shadow modeling. This is the initial introduction stage. At this stage, students should gradually master the characteristics of paper-cutting, and boldly use folding and cutting methods to teach. For example, use the three-fold method to cut, fold it first, and then draw a designed pattern on the folded surface to cut or carve. After opening, it will be a paper-cut pattern formed by six repeated figures. What should be noted here is that the designed patterns should be concise and general, and the shapes should be large or small, sparse or dense, and have a main body, so that even a few simple geometric shapes can produce a good-looking effect. Students' interest will greatly increase when they are surprised.
Folk paper-cut art
As mentioned before, paper-cutting often expresses auspicious patterns loved by the people through artistic techniques such as homophony, meaning, symbolism, exaggeration, and deformation. Then, in the second stage, based on students mastering certain paper-cutting knowledge and techniques, they should focus on learning conception, sketching, deformation, and exaggeration. Select representative and typical shapes from books and deform them, or collect data through sketching, deform, exaggerate, and then change them into paper-cut shapes, and then cut or carve them according to the shapes. Paper cutting teaching is based on freehand paper cutting
Mainly, to cultivate students' thinking, judgment and creative abilities, and promote the coordination and balanced development of eyes, brain and hands.
The third stage is the production steps and techniques of paper-cutting. There are single-color paper-cutting, multi-color paper-cutting, dyed paper-cutting, and the production of happy flowers, group flowers and various patterns. Paper-cutting is usually performed with two tools: scissors and carving knives. Either cutting is the main method and engraving is the supplement; or on the contrary, carving is the main method and shearing is the supplement. Generally, a carving knife is used for openings, small parts, and details, while scissors are often used for folding, edges, and "hairing" (cutting beards). Paper-cutting techniques include folding cutting, breaking cutting, digging out cutting, roughening, etc. Sometimes a work may be composed of several techniques combined together.
Secondly, in terms of teaching form, I mainly combine classroom teaching with extracurricular activities.
I often like to choose works in class that are easy for students to understand, accept, interesting, and close to students' lives for students to appreciate, and inspire and infect students through the vivid images and concise forms of excellent paper-cut works. After introducing students to the basic techniques of folding, cutting, and pasting, students are then asked to carefully observe the actual objects, use their brains, make bold ideas, and cut and carve carefully. Through using their brains and hands-on skills, students' thinking has been developed, and their observation, imagination and creativity of things have been enhanced. (Please refer to the paper-cutting tutorial: Triangular folding and cutting method of paper-cutting method) At the same time, in order to enable students to grasp the things learned in the classroom more firmly, and to make the learning content richer and more diverse, so that the knowledge learned in the classroom can be obtained outside the classroom. Extend and expand so that students have a stable interest in hand-cut paper cutting. To further improve students' paper-cutting skills and enhance deeper friendships with classmates, we established a handicraft association. Use handicraft association activities to cultivate students' ability to draw inferences from one example, teach students to flexibly change easy-to-learn patterns, and encourage students to think boldly and innovate boldly. Therefore, when I have the opportunity, I will take students to sketch in the wild, so that students can express more themes and broaden their horizons. At the same time, it also cultivates students' love for nature. The combination of classroom and extracurricular activities makes students' paper-cutting skills better.level has been further improved. On this basis, I adopt various forms, not limited to classroom teaching, not limited to paper-cutting alone, and closely combine paper-cutting with other hand-made products, each doing their best to continuously develop their interests and expertise. Focusing on handicraft association activities, we teach students in accordance with their aptitude, strengthen guidance, focus on practical results, and give full play to students' imagination. For example, learning the folding and cutting method, there are two folding methods, three folding methods, four folding methods, five folding methods, six folding methods, and seven folding methods. It is impossible for us to expand so much content in the limited time in class. Among the learning content of a semester, the content of paper-cutting is only part of it, and the class hours are limited. Therefore, extracurricular learning such as the Handicraft Association is very necessary. The Handicraft Association generally allows students who are interested and have a certain foundation to study together. The level of paper-cutting You will improve faster, and the friendship between classmates will be deeper as they learn and help each other. Finally, in terms of teaching methods, guidance on copying is combined with encouraging students to create boldly.
The purpose of copying is to understand the different characteristics of paper-cutting in various regions, understand the use of square, round, soft and hard knife methods, and master paper-cutting techniques faster and better. At the same time, I based on the students' strong competitiveness and strong thirst for knowledge
