Wouldn’t it be a great idea to gather some fig leaves and stamp them onto clay to create a unique and beautiful plate? This craft idea can be done with almost any leaf, but my favorite It’s a fig leaf. Where’s yours?
Material Tools:
Clay, bamboo skewers, oven, rolling pin, craft mat, fig leaves.
Step 1
On a craft mat, spread the clay to about 1/4-inch thickness and wide enough to accommodate the fig leaves.
Step 2
Gently press the back of the fig leaf into the clay.
Step 3
With the leaves still on the clay, use a bamboo skewer to cut along the edges of the fig leaves.
Step 4
Now that your fig leaves are cut from the clay, remove the leaves from the clay. Use your fingers to smooth the edges of the clay until you like how it looks. Lift the craft mat and gently peel it away from the clay.
Step 5
Put your clay into the appropriately sized oven bowl and press the clay gently to conform to the curve of the bowl. Place the bowl in the oven with the clay and bake for the appropriate time. Once done, cool completely in the oven. You can put the finished plate on the coffee table for decoration, as a gift or any other idea you can think of!
