A small and fresh tutorial on hand-making labels made of clay. Of course, you can also make them with clay. Clay crafts have always been loved by craft enthusiasts. From the mud and plasticine in childhood, to all kinds of clay, polymer clay, etc., everyone has always been fond of this activity. Let’s learn how to DIY this simple clay plant label and add cute instructions to your potted plants.
Material preparation:
-Oven-bakeable clay-Craft dye-Paint brush-Clay carving knife-Ruler-Cutting mat-Extra fine marker-Rolling pin.
Making Tutorial:
Knead the clay with your hands to make it soft, and then use a rolling pin to roll the clay flat on the backing board. Control the thickness of the clay according to your personal preference.
Use a knife to cut the clay to the appropriate length. The label shown in the picture is 3/4" wide and 4" long. Use a cutting blade to cut the long sides, and a clay graver to cut the small angle at the top of the label. The cut clay is then removed from the backing board and baked in the oven.
When the clay is baked and completely cooled, begin coloring. Wet a paint brush in water and then apply color to create uneven stripes that look fresh and natural. If you want to apply the color richly, you don't need to wet the brush and just apply the color directly. Just let them dry completely after applying.
After drying, use an ultra-fine marker to write the name of the plant on the label, then insert them into the pot, and you’re done. Isn’t it simple?
