My son likes to play with toy cars... One day, I suddenly had an idea and wanted to complete a car elevator with him, which can be used to make parking lots, garages, toy houses, etc. If you can collect the materials, it’s not difficult to do, but it’s a little time-consuming. If you’re interested, give it a try!~
Material tools:
- Wood strips
- saw,
- Hammer and Nail,
-Cardboard,
- Acrylic paint,
- paper clip,
- Pencil and ruler,
-Cutter,
- Drilling machine,
- Glue,
- Tape.
You will also need small wooden sticks and paper clips to make the rotating handle.
First, cut the wood strips
- 360mm length - 4,
- 100mm length - 4,
- 5 inches length - 4,
- 85mm length - 1,
- 130mm x 130mm plywood.
Use very thin nails to secure and make a rectangle as shown in the picture, you need to make two.
Use 5-inch wooden strips to connect them together.
The frame is not very strong, we need to support it at the top and bottom.
Temporarily secure the plywood to the top using nails on the sides.
Then find the center of each post and nail it.
Remove the temporary nails when finished.
Secure the bottom wooden strips (5 inches) as shown.
Since I cut the wood by hand, they are not the correct length, there are some gaps, but not a big deal.
To make the lift, I used cardboard boxes and cut them to size.
I made a 100mm x 96mm square base.
Use more cardboard to make the rails.
Glue them to the sides of the lift.
The lift is finished, put it in and try the size.
Take out a wooden stick about the same thickness as the drilled hole.
Use paper clips to secure two small wooden sticks as shown in the picture.
Insert the longest section into the drilled hole.
The exposed stick is wrapped with wire to prevent it from slipping out.
Then tie the rope to the lift.
Adjust length, balance, etc.
Shake the handle to hoist the lift.
Finally, take out the acrylic colors and paint them, and then you can start playing~
