Hi, in this tutorial I'm going to share how to make a fairy house using just old boxes, egg cartons, pizza boxes, toilet paper tubes and two plastic bottles. You also need to prepare paint, hot melt glue gun and PVA glue. It took me about ten days to complete this fairytale house model, including drying time!~
First cut the bottom of one of the bottles, then punch a hole in a piece of cardboard and stick the bottle through. Glue them together and add cardboard piece by piece until you have the rough look of a small house.
At the bottom of the house, I used some old newspapers to make large rolls for filling, and then covered them with egg cartons to give it a rocky texture. I added another plastic bottle to the side of the house as a small tower or balcony.
With the shape ready, I drew some windows and cut them out and glued them in place. Additionally, I glued on some window frames made from some toilet paper tubes. I also glued the frame on the plastic bottle balcony.
Take two 30-hole egg cartons, tear them open and place them in a plastic container. Pour in the hot water, using a spoon to make sure they are completely submerged. Wait for the water to cool and add smaller pieces torn from the carton. Wait another half hour or so to make a uniform paste, use a sieve to drain the water, and squeeze out as much water as possible (it is best to use less water at this time, you can always add more if needed).
Put the materials into different containers, add four spoons of PVA glue, and mix evenly. Spread the paste evenly on the model, you can use the blade of a knife to do this.
Covered the entire shape with made paper clay and even made some wood textures for the door and porch.
I made the stairs and handrails for the porch. I also wanted some roof texture, so I covered the entire roof with tiles made from pizza box cardboard.
I cover the house first with a dark color, then add a very bright color or even white, but only to the surface of the texture.
In addition to that bright color, you can add other colors. I ended up putting an LED flashlight under the house to get a cool effect in the dark~
