For many fashionistas, there has always been a trend of DIY clothing modification. In Europe, almost everyone is very good at distressing jeans, adding fringe to suede jackets, and deconstructing oversized vintage suit pants into bags.
If you've never tried reworking an old piece of clothing in your closet, this is the perfect time to give your jeans a try. You don't need a designers pattern-making skills to quickly inject new soul into the out-of-season jeans in your wardrobe. All you need is a seam ripper (or scissors) and needle and thread. How easy!
Step 1:
Use a seam ripper or scissors to remove the two pockets from the back of the jeans.
Step 2:
Remove the excess line segments from the pocket piece.
Step 3:
Move the pockets equidistantly to the bottom and outside, and secure them.
Step 4:
Choose the same color thread as the original sewing thread and sew by hand or sewing.
Done!
