Another tutorial on remaking old T-shirts. An ordinary simple T-shirt is magically transformed into a fashionable T-shirt skirt through tailoring. The effect is amazing~
Main materials:
2 pieces of T-shirts (one large and one small)
Tools required:
Scissors, sewing machine, marking powder, positioning pin, measuring tape
Production steps:
Step 1:
The sizes of the two T-shirts mainly needed for this tutorial are as shown in the picture.
Step 2:
Use scissors to cut a small T-shirt from the middle into two upper and lower parts. As shown in the picture, cut it into a slightly curved shape. The specific position is approximately below the sternum when wearing a T-shirt.
Step 3:
Stack the seams on both sides of the upper T-shirt together to ensure that the arc cut out of the T-shirt is symmetrical. As shown in the picture, if the steps on both sides are symmetrical, the excess parts should be cut off.
Step 4:
If the upper part of the small T-shirt is cut due to asymmetry, as shown in the picture, the remaining half of the T-shirt must also undergo the same treatment.
Step 5:
As shown in the picture, first sew the cut edge of the upper part of the T-shirt with a double thread, then fold the edge inward to a width of about 1cm for hemming.
Step 6:
Fold a slightly larger T-shirt in half from left to right.Cut as shown in the picture. Cut approximately below the neckline. Leave a large chunk of the bottom half of the T-shirt aside.
Step 7:
If the large T-shirt has pockets, as shown in the picture, carefully remove them.
Step 8:
After removing the pocket, use a measuring tape to draw a small half arc in the middle of the cut of the big T-shirt, as shown in the picture. Be sure to make sure the half arc is in the middle of the T-shirt.
Step 9:
The effect of the big T-shirt after cutting out the semicircle is as shown below. Pay attention to folding the T-shirt in half left and right to maintain symmetry.
Step 10:
Turn the big T-shirt inside out and cut the rounded corners on both sides of the sleeves as shown in the picture. This area will become the pocket of the skirt in the next step.
Step 11:
As shown in the picture, sew the upper cut of the large T-shirt.
Step 12:
In order to keep the front and back pieces of the T-shirt aligned, as shown in the picture, you can use positioning pins to fix it.
Step 13:
Put the upper part of the prepared small T-shirt and the lower part of the large T-shirt together, as shown in the picture. Place the pockets of the large T-shirt approximately in the position shown in the picture.
Step 14:
< /p>
As shown in the picture, sew the lower part of the pocket to the large T-shirt. Note that part of the pocket is connected to the small T-shirt.
Step 15:
After sewing, use positioning pins to fix the part where the pocket connects to the small T-shirt as shown in the picture.
Step 16:
As shown in the picture, use positioning pins to fix the entire cutting of the small T-shirt and the large T-shirt, and then use a sewing machine to sew the two parts together.
Step 17:
After sewing, cut off the excess fabric at the edge of the seam as shown in the picture.
Step 18:
Sew the remaining half of the large T-shirt pocket to the small T-shirt.
Step 19:
As shown in the picture, fold the large T-shirt in half, and use scissors to cut off about 3cm in width from the bottom.
Step 20:
Cut an arc about 3cm wide and 1/3 of the flat length of the T-shirt from the side with sleeves. The effect is as shown in the picture.
Step 21:
Connect the bottom circle of cloth cut out in the previous step with the bottom of the big T-shirt as shown in the figure. The parts are sewn together. The hem may be a little long, as shown in the picture. The excess hem is first fixed with positioning pins.
Step 22:
As shown in the picture, fold the excess part in half and sew it up first, then cut off the excess part.
Step 23:
The cut edges are sewn as shown in the picture.
Step 24:
Use an iron to smooth the sewn edges of the fabric as shown in the picture.
Step 25:
The effect of the clothes after ironing is as shown below.
Step 26:
Put it on and try it on. If the size is right, you will have a T-shirt dress~
