A tutorial on using old jeans waste to make a DIY apron, a practical home crafting method. Those who love food and often cook can make one for themselves when they have time.
Main materials:
1 pair (piece) of old jeans (or denim), 1 piece (piece) of red patterned fabric
Tools required:
1 pair of scissors, 1 sewing machine, 1 blade
Production steps:
Step 1:
Looking for a pair of mens or large-sized jeans. Girls often wear skinny jeans that are probably too small.
Step 2:
Cut off the jeans below the butt.
Step 3:
Use a blade to remove the trademark and two back bags, and then cut off the lower edge of the belt loop on the belt mountain, leaving only the upper edge connected to the trouser waistband.
Step 4:
Cut off the front part of the trousers along the side seam line, as shown in the picture above. The entire waistband is left, and is cut to both sides.
Step 5:
Cut off the front part of the trousers along the side seam line, as shown in the picture above. The entire waistband is left, and is cut to both sides.
Step 6:
Then lay the cut fabric flat on both sides and sew it with a sewing machine.
Step 7:
Make full use of the cut-out logo and trim the pattern on the logo.
Step 8:
Sew the trademark pattern onto one of the pocket fabrics, as shown above, and the zipper on the pants is also decorated on the pocket.
Step 9:
Cut off the part of the jeans in the picture that is surrounded by the red dotted circle (the triangular part), and then separate the hip part and the waistband.
Step 10:
Using red patterned fabric, cut out a 10cm wide strip (the same length as the hip width of the pants) and a 5cm wide strip (as long as possible).
Step 11:
Sew the narrower strip of fabric to the three sides of the hip fabric in a folded and wavy shape. When sewing the pocket back to the hip, add wavy red fabric to the pocket opening.
Step 12:
Sew a wider strip of fabric to the triangular part that was cut off before, paying attention to the front and back sides. For the belt loops on the waistband, the middle loop is sewn on the red fabric, and the two side loops are sewn on the hip fabric, so that the waist and hips are connected together.
Step 13:
If you are proficient in operating a sewing machine, you can sew the lace directly with the sewing machine. Otherwise, string the cloth strips with a needle and thread first, stretch them into a wavy shape, and then sew them onto the pants.
Step 14:
Wearing the denim apron you made yourself in the kitchen will make you really proud. It’s so beautiful that it’s not an exaggeration to wear it in public!
