An ordinary glass bottle can be transformed into a beautiful vase or candlestick by pasting some colored paper strips on it. And by changing the tissue color, it can serve as a beautiful table decoration every season. Friends, do you want to make an autumn-style vase with your own hands? If you are interested, prepare the materials and follow the illustrated steps below to try it!~
Materials and tools: glass bottles, colored tissue paper, Mod podge glue, string (or yarn, ribbon), adhesive (optional but recommended), foam brush, scissors.
1. Clean your jar first and let it dry completely.
Cut colored tissue paper into thin strips. For this fall-inspired jar, we used tissue paper in gold, yellow, orange, red, brown, and tan.
2. Optional:Add a layer of adhesive to the outside of the glass jar, it is recommended to complete this step outdoors! The sides of the jar will be very sticky after spraying the adhesive.
3. If you have sprayed adhesive, you can now start adding strips of tissue paper to the surface of the glass bottle, optionally using vertical stripes. Carefully place the tissue paper over the jar and it will immediately catch with the adhesive.
4. If you are not using spray adhesive, apply a thin layer of Mod podge glue to the sides of the jar before proceeding to attach the tissue strip.
5. If using spray adhesive, now add a thin layer of Mod podge glue to the tissue paper. Make sure to use the brush in the same direction as the stripes, otherwise the brush may move the tissue strips. If you are using Mod podge glue, dry the first layer first, then add another layer of Mod podge glue on top of the tissue paper.
6. After letting the glass bottle dry completely, wrap yarn, string or ribbon around the mouth of the bottle and tie it.
7. Add a candle or flowers to the jar, and our beautiful candlestick/vase is ready~
