Materials and tools: scissors, carving knife, toothpick, pen, sandpaper, printing paper, 4 ice cream sticks (5.9 inches x 0.7 inches), 6 small rubber bands, 2 medium rubber bands, 4 large rubber bands .
Note: The actual differences in rubber band sizes are very small, and you can use a single size for all rubber bands if you prefer.
Stack all the popsicle sticks and tie them together with a small rubber band about 1 inch from one end.
Separate the two inner and two outer popsicle sticks.
Don't focus too much on the angle of the V, this will change in the following steps.
Take out a small rubber band and tie it as shown in the picture to prevent the two groups of ice cream sticks from moving randomly.
Do not overstretch the rubber band during this step. Then wrap a small rubber band horizontally.
Use a pen or pencil to draw two lines on the left and right side of the slingshot.
Using the folded edge of a piece of sandpaper, make an indentation where the line is drawn on the popsicle stick. Just pay attention to the depth, otherwise it will easily lead to ice creamThe stick breaks.
Tie a medium rubber band around the second indentation on each side.
Fold the printed paper into quarters and use scissors to cut out one quarter of the paper.
Fold 1/4 piece of paper into the size shown.
Draw two identical marks symmetrically on the paper, and use a carving knife to punch holes at the marked locations.
Make the hole large enough to fit two rubber bands.
One rubber band at a time, use the blunt edge of a toothpick (or something similar) to push 2 large rubber bands through each hole, about a quarter of the length of the rubber band.
Once all 4 large rubber bands are installed, use the small rubber bands to tie them together.
Wrap a small rubber band around each side of the large rubber band.
Tie a rubber band to the first indentation of the ice cream stick as shown.
The simple ice cream stick slingshot is finished, you can pick it up and start playing! Be careful not to aim at people or fragile objects such as glass!!
