The "Kawasaki Rose" is very beautiful. In fact, this five-petaled rose is even more beautiful. However, the existing introductions on the Internet are basically drawings and there are very few photos. Share a relatively clear illustrated tutorial. Friends who like this kind of five-petal rose can give it a try. It’s a bit difficult but that’s for sure~
First complete picture:
1. First of all, you need a piece of regular pentagonal paper (most of the online teachings use a square and then fold it into a regular pentagon. I think it is more convenient to cut one out).
First find a rectangular piece of paper, fold it in half, and then fold it as shown below. The angle β should be twice as large as the angle α.
2. Fold it in half as shown in the picture below, folding the angle β inward in half.
3. Fold angle α backward.
4. Cut along the black line.
5. Open it and you will get a regular pentagon.
6. Let’s start to formally fold the five-petal rose.
First fold all the creases in the same direction. This is to prepare for the last step. If you don't do this, you will have a little trouble in the end.
7. Fold every two adjacent corners inward (that is, fold the "mountain line", which means folding inward). The completed picture is below.
The first pentagonal crease is made.
8. Align each two corners of the small pentagon above and fold it inward to form the second small pentagon.Shape, with small red dots painted on the five corners.
9. Next find any point. Find the two lines starting from this point, which are drawn with the blue lines below. Fold these two lines in half to create a crease.
10. Fold each point like this, and the following effect will appear.
(The trick is to release your hand after making the crease and leave it there. After all is completed, it will naturally have the three-dimensional effect as shown below)
11. The following is a bit difficult to understand.
Remember the regular pentagon surrounded by the first crease? Find those five vertices, and you will find that they are all on the extension line of the smallest pentagon. Find any point and the two lines starting from this point, which are the two lines drawn with red lines below.
Then fold the left line to the left, the right line to the right, and press the right line according to the previous crease. Please see step 10 for the left one.
12. Mark point A and point B first. A is very clear, B is the point where the crease in steps 9 and 10 is on an "edge" of the paper.
Fold the red line on the left mentioned in step 11 to the left, connect point A and point B, and press it down. At this point you can loosen the line on the right.
Do you understand this?
13. Do you still remember the crease in step 9? Fold it once according to that crease, together with the part just pressed down, as shown in the picture below, a small triangle appears and is wrapped inside.
14. This is a bit difficult to understand. Here is another photo, with two corners folded.
15. When you slowly fold the last corner, you will find that the entire paper is slowly being wrapped together, like a cone without a point.
Also, after pressing, you can’t see the small triangle in step 13, it’s all wrapped inside.
16. Pick it up and fold each protruding corner back toward you as shown in the picture below. You can easily fold it into this shape, which will look like this.
This is what it looks like when all five corners are completed.
17. Next, open the newly folded corner and fold it back inward according to the crease.
The one on the left is before folding back, and the one on the right is the finished picture.
18. It’s all done like this.
19. I really don’t know how to explain the following...
Hold it upside down and find 3 points first. C is the vertex of the small corner folded in step 18. D is the only visible point on the edge between the two angles. E is the corresponding position of point C in the side corner on the layer of paper below.
20. First connect the CDs and fold them inward. Then start from point E and fold a line in the direction of point E to intersect line CD.
21. This is the first small leaf of the rose. Fold the right side down first, and then press the CD on top. It will look like the bottom, the shape of a leaf.
22. Completed picture of two small leaves.
23. After all the leaves are completed, it looks like this from the top, a mess. But don't worry, thats it, it'll be sorted out in a while.
24 Sort it out slowly from right to left like step 22. You will find that they can be pressed one by one to wrap the bottom. Insert the last piece and it will look like the following.
25. You can also press each small leaf a little tighter in the center, like this.
26. On the other hand, thats it.
27. Pull the center up as shown below.
28. The time has come to test your artistic skills. This place is very technical and it is also the critical moment for whether the flower looks good or not.
Hold the small tip in the middle and twist it clockwise a few times. Don't worry, it won't break.
You’re done, the beautiful five-petal rose origami is ready~
