Poker can be said to be an entertainment activity that is easy to get started with, has various ways of playing, and is suitable for all ages. I previously posted an article about my experience in origami playing cards with spades and clubs. Due to the limit on the number of uploaded pictures, I was unable to show how to make diamonds and hearts together. Today we can make up for this regret. Lets learn how to fold diamonds and hearts together.
Origami----How to fold spades and clubs in playing card suits?
Tools/Materials
Colored paper
Double-sided tape
Steps for folding the square pieces
1. Prepare a square piece of colored paper, because the square pieces and hearts are both red. , the best colored paper is one with red on one side and white on the other. Since I couldn’t buy this type, I chose ordinary colored paper.
First fold the colored paper up and down, left and right, then align the upper, lower, left and right edges and fold them toward the middle respectively. Six creases will appear to divide the colored paper into 16 equal parts.
2. As shown in the picture below, fold corner 1 upward along the dotted line, so that corner 1 coincides with intersection point 2.
3. Fold the remaining three corners in the same way, and four dotted creases appear.

4. As shown in the picture below, 1 and 3 overlap, 2 and 4 overlap, 5 and 6 overlap, 1, 2, 3, 4 are at the bottom, and 5 and 6 are standing up.
5. Then press the upright 5 and 6 to one side, bisect them from the middle and flatten them, as shown below.
6. Fold the other side in the same way.
7. Press the crease at the bottom.
8. Expand it and turn it over, and a square will appear.
9. This square is obviously larger than the square rhombus on the playing card, so we still need to do some trimming. Fold both sides of the sharp corners of the red paper on the right side to the left along the dotted line. The dotted line position is generally one-third of 45 degrees. After folding, stand up the small corner and smooth it out.
10. Put the white part on the leftFold to the right to expose the small corner from the middle, then divide the small corner in half and flatten it.
11. Fold the other side in the same way.
12. Turn it over and the square piece is ready.
How to fold hearts
1. The first few steps for the heart are the same as for the square piece. After completing step 3 according to the above folding method for the square piece, fold it again along the diagonal line. The crease will be as shown in the picture below.
2. Press the dotted line in the middle of the small square, stand it up on all sides, and press the crease toward the middle.
3. Part 3 of the side coincides with the bottom surface. Hold parts 1 and 2 upright with your thumbs. Fold the four sides in the same way and arrange them as shown below.
4. Flatten one of the standing edges downwards, then press the second one over, and press alternately in this way.
5. Pull the white parts apart along the dotted lines and flatten them.
6. The two small squares above are pulled apart along the dotted lines, as shown in the figure.
7. Pull part 1 upward along the dotted line to coincide with part 2.
8. Fold the left side in the same way and tidy it up until a small square appears.
9. Then fold the left and right sides in the same way. We can make a total of three such small squares. Fold the sharp corners of the small squares on the left and right sides inward a small amount, and the basic shape of the heart is already there.
10. Fold back part of the extra white edge on the top, and also fold back a small part of the left and right sides, so that the heart is ready.
11. Use double-sided tape to stick the three small squares on the top to the bottom to make it look better.
The hearts are ready, don’t they look similar?
This completes the origami experience of playing card suits of spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.
