When printing banknotes, each country has its own special anti-counterfeiting methods. Even if you wash the banknotes, in the governments demonetization mechanism, as long as there are the required anti-counterfeiting marks, you can redeem the original banknotes in your pocket at a 1:1 ratio.
I feel heartbroken when I see these photos. Is it an illusion?
Artist Kristi Malakoff always likes to cut things into pieces and then reassemble them into new things. This time she probably had too much money, so she decided to cut out all the patterns on the banknotes. Strangely enough, the money put together turned out to be quite beautiful!
She not only likes to cut banknotes, but also likes to cut stamps into small pieces because of her itchy hands. We don’t know whether it may be because of the Chinese New Year saying of "safety in pieces", but what we do know is her works. Various museums invite exhibitions. Seeing that she is quite artistic and pretty, we decided to let her go as we were short of money.
