More than 50,000 light bulbs strung together a patch of starlight on the ground in the Red Center near Ayers Rock, Australia. This was the scene that stood out most in the mind of the famous British light artist Bruce Munro when he visited Uluru in 1992. , now 24 years have passed, and I finally officially meet you on April 1 this year!
Uluru is known as the "heart of Australia". Munro came up with the idea of ??creating this light art installation when he visited the place in 1992. Even after so many years, the idea has always been in his mind.
Munro said that the scene he imagined in his mind was like hibernating seeds in a dry desert, under a patch of starlight, quietly waiting for dawn, and then blooming with warm light. He created the first version 12 years ago in the fields behind his home, and then moved to the UK, the US, Mexico and finally Australia.
Munro has always used thousands of light bulbs in his past works. Perhaps it is because every human experience is like a small element that constitutes life. Or perhaps Munro wants to use these little lights as a response to each audience. , and this creative mode of creating beauty through numbers has also become Munro’sOne of the features.
Field of Light Uluru is about the size of four football fields. The thread-like solar light bulbs absorb energy during the day and then bloom at night. The colorful lights echo with the stars in the night sky. It is so spectacular that no wonder the local Anangu people call this device "Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku in Pitjantjatjara", which translates into Chinese as "looking at many beautiful lights".
Field of Light Uluru will be on display from April 1st to March 2017. The profits from the exhibition will be returned to the local community. Those who have the opportunity to visit Uluru in Australia these days, don’t forget to come here and experience the 50,000 pieces. What a magnificent view of light bulbs!
