The leather craftsman has produced a drawing of a classic small handbag. Such a beautiful and exquisite small bag does not look complicated, so you must not miss it. Let’s take a look at the picture first to see what the finished product looks like.
First choose the skin . I don’t know why, but I always feel that this small bag made of dark leather doesn’t look good and is too heavy. Suddenly I remembered that I bought a piece of 0.5mm white snakeskin pattern sheepskin a long time ago, so I dug out the stock and started making it.
Unload the material first . Because the skin is too thin, only 0.5mm, if you want it to be firm, you have to apply a few more layers. As you can see from the picture, 4 pieces of material are put on the side, 2 pieces of material are put on the inner buckle, and 3 layers of material are put on the main part: the outermost one is a whole piece of material that is connected to the front, back and bottom, and the inside is A piece of material is placed on the front, back and bottom respectively, and then another piece of material is placed on the front and back respectively. The lower part of this piece of material is dug out and embedded with 0.6mm leather bran paper. This layer is sandwiched in the middle. The bottom is the thickest, with leather and chaff paper sandwiched in the middle, and two layers of sheepskin on top and bottom. All in all, I put a lot of thought into making the finished product stiffer. The final product is exactly what I expected. It is very stiff, and it is made of sheepskin inside and outside, so it feels very comfortable. Take a look at what the final product looks like inside.
Finished loading The last step is to glue the middle layer and the inner layer of the front and back pieces together. Because no other traces can be seen on the outside of the final product except the handle, the shoulder strap D buckle, internal buckle and magnetic buckle must be installed at this time. Once these are installed, start making the handles. Pay attention when making the handle. I bought 6mm wrist glue according to the leather craftsmans video, cut the material, and after attaching it, I found that the handle leather could not wrap the wrist glue at all. So I cut a single layer of leather again and was able to barely wrap it around the glue, but the space left for me to sew was already very small. I cut very carefully along the edge of the leather of the handle, and I was also very careful when sewing. I was really afraid that I might tear the leather accidentally, but fortunately, it was completed smoothly in the end. Next time you do it, you can sew the glue first, and thenIt might be a better idea to trim off the excess skin. Also, the wrist glue should be left slightly longer, so that when it is finally sewn to the main body of the bag, it will look fuller, stronger and better looking. I left too little, and in the end the part where the front and back pieces were sewn together was empty, flat and unsightly.
Watch me sew Be careful, its like dancing on a knifes edge.
Handle seam Okay, with the magnetic buckle and shoulder buckle installed, it looks like this. Sew the inner buckle to the leather on one side according to the position marked on the drawing. Then install the bottom nails. Paste a piece of sheepskin on the top and bottom of the leather bran paper, then stick it together with the outer skin, punch holes, and install the bottom nails. Then attach the front and rear pieces of leather with the magnetic buckle and shoulder buckle installed in the picture above to the outermost layer of leather. Next is the installation of the handle. Two problems are encountered here. First, without thinking about it, I just poked a circle of holes in the outer skin according to the installation position of the handle on the drawing. When I put the handle up, I discovered that the stitched area on the handle was now smaller than when it was unfolded, and it was impossible to cover these positioned holes. I had no choice but to cut four more small pieces of leather to cover the holes, and then sewed the handles. So as you can see, I still have a layer of skin underneath my handle. This is not used to reinforce the handle, but to hide it.
The second one The problem I encountered was that when I was sewing the handle, I found that part of the handles cut position and the previously sewn internal buckle overlapped. If you don't remove the line of the internal buckle, the cut hole for the handle will have to be drilled into the buckle, and there will be problems with the stitching. I decisively removed the buckle and left the problem to be solved later.
The problem with sewing the handles and then sewing the buckles is that now the inner and outer skins have been pasted together. Using conventional sewing methods will inevitably damage the outer skin of the bag and leave a seam mark. The only solution was to run the wire between the inner and outer skin and once again I was dancing on the blade.
Okay, It was successfully completed in the end. Now the bag has become like this:
Only the last side stitching is left to finish.
Follow the handle Than, the side stitching is pretty smooth. After the completion, I felt that white was too monotonous, so I just bought a little bee
jewelry a few days ago. , nailed on the bag, it looks much better.
Doing this There were a lot of pitfalls during the packaging process, but they were all resolved successfully in the end. Making bags is a hands-on and brain-using activity. In this process, we will constantly discover problems, analyze problems, solve problems, and then look at our results and fall in love with them. I think this is also the reason why making bags is fascinating. Trial version drawing http://www.pixiaojiang.com/topic/show/807
