Nendo, a well-known Japanese design studio, recently designed a unique handbag, which is made of leather cut by a single laser engraving machine. Designed specifically for the Italian online store "up to you anthology", this tote bag can be unfolded into a flat surface before customers assemble it.

The name of the handbag "mai" comes from the Japanese word "ichimai", which means "one piece" (usually refers to a thin flat object). Nendo folds a single piece of leather into a lightweight tote mai!

Nendo designs handbags that are easy to assemble and require no tools. Buyers only need to easily fold and assemble it, and snap the rivets into the preset holes to turn it into a three-dimensional bag. According to the Japanese studio, this unique assembly method simplifies the production process and minimizes inventory and shipping costs, while allowing users to choose from a variety of colors, sizes and shapes.
