Appreciation of Pan Muwen’s paper-cut works
Mu Pan, a Taiwanese artist currently living in Brooklyn, USA, studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and received an MFA in 2007. His works hide various modern elements in traditional Chinese elements, including the characters' clothing, postures, etc. Pan Muwen is an artist who never calls himself an artist. With a pair of scissors and a few cans of paint, he makes everything appear on paper, and every detail appears. The theme of Pan Muwens works is often about the war between ancient humans and beasts. The expressions of humans and beasts are ferocious, and the battle scenes are fierce and bloody, full of tension and reality.
