She was discovered during a paper-cutting competition held in the office 10 years ago. She stood out, became famous and was recognized by everyone. She studied under her mother and inherited and developed her mothers skills. Guan Rus mother learned from her eldest sister when she was 12 years old. Guan Rus mother has brought many apprentices throughout her life. She is now over 80 years old. Most of the paper-cutting elders were taught by her mother herself, and these elders can be found almost in the entire village. At that time, the whole village made a living by paper-cutting. During the Chinese New Year, they all cut the window grilles, corner flowers, window curtains, etc. from red paper. After cutting, they sold them in the market to earn some money to support their families. At that time, mothers-in-law, daughters-in-law, and little girls would cut paper, and the family would sell it in the market.
