In addition to paper and carving knife, wax board is also one of the indispensable tools for paper-cutting in Zigong. The wax plate is also called the wrong plate. When carving paper, it is placed under the work to facilitate the cutting.
Zigong wax boards are made from yellow wax, incense ash, flour and clear oil in strict proportions. Due to the physical properties of softening when exposed to heat and hardening when exposed to cold, it is usually placed in the refrigerator before use in summer, and then the flour is evenly spread on the wax board to prevent adhesion with the carving knife and damage to the underlying work. Before use in winter, use a hair dryer to turn on the hot air and blow the staggered board to the appropriate hardness.
