Porcelain craftsmanship developed greatly in the Song Dynasty, and paper-cut patterns were used on porcelain. The most famous one is the paper-cut decorative porcelain from Jizhou Kiln in Jiangxi Province. Among them, paper-cut patterns on tea cups and bottles are the most common. Paper-cut patterns are printed during the glazing process. The patterns are not limited to details and show rough beauty. They are also rich in content, including animal and plant patterns. The composition is symmetrical, Scattered and comprehensive forms. The Jizhou kiln appliquéd phoenix pattern bowl collected by the Jiangxi Provincial Museum has an open mouth with a shallow belly and a ring foot. The whole body is covered with a yellow-brown spotted glaze. There are two flying phoenixes affixed to the inside of the bowl. There are three flower patterns in the center of the bowl. The depth and light contrast, and the pattern effect is strong. In the Northern Song Dynasty, shadow puppets were mostly carved from plain paper. Later, shadow puppets were made of sheepskin and cowhide. The swirl carving technique of shadow puppets is the same as that of paper-cutting. The techniques of shape processing, image decoration, dyeing, etc. are all based on paper-cutting. artistic language.
