Autumn...the traditional season of thanksgiving. With just some inexpensive 2" x 4" pine lumber and a bit of paint, you can share this extraordinary Thanksgiving decoration with family and friends by making your own Thanksgiving wooden blocks. It can be completed by simply transferring or hand-painting the letters onto the wooden block. If you like it, follow the tutorial below and give it a try!~
Material tools:
2" x 4" pine board. Each letter requires 1 block.
Sandpaper.
Paint.
2 inch letter mold.
Oil paint brush.
1. Saw the wood into 2" x 4" pieces and sand lightly to remove sharp edges.
2. Paint each wood block and let it dry completely. All you need is a coat of paint.
3. Before adding letters, arrange the blocks in the order you plan to display them. Decide if you want this look or pattern.
4. You can use the purchased 2-inch letter mold, or you can use word processing software to make your own letters. I'm using Microsoft Word here, Arial Rounded MT Bold font, set the size to 200, then type the letters, highlight them and make them bold.
5. If using a die, center the letter on the block. If using a printed lettering, cut out each letter and transfer it to the wood block. Since pine wood is soft, you will leave marks on the wood if you press too hard.
6. Now you can paint the letters on the wooden block.
7. You can also draw some flower patterns on the wooden blocks.
8. Now, place them as Thanksgiving decorations~
