Like everyone, I bought a fidget spinner for my son, but it broke after not playing with it for long, either due to poor quality or rough use. I have done crafts using bearings and plywood before, so I thought why not make a wooden finger spinner?!
There are two types of fidget spinners, one is the more common one as shown above, and the other is in the shape of a batarang.
Materials and tools: 5mm x 100 mm x 60 mm plate, 10mm bearing, nuts, plastic parts, super glue, sandpaper, cutting knife.
Drill a hole in the center of the board.
Freehand draw the batarang shape as shown in the picture.
Use a sharp cutting knife to cut out the bat shape.
Once completed, use sandpaper to smooth the curved edges.
Drill holes for nut and bearing installation.
What it looks like after installation.
Paint the wood with black acrylic paint and glue the two plastic pieces to the bearings.
Then let’s see how to make the classic fidget spinner.
Materials Tools: 5mm x 100mm x 100mm plywood, 22mm bearings, nuts, 20mm drill bit, super glue, sandpaper.
First draw a circle with a radius of 50 mm and divide it into 3 parts.
Drill holes in the center and 3 partitions (30mm inside the circular border).
Cut off the excess to get the proper shape.
Finally, install the bearings and nuts, and both fidget spinners are DIYed~
