Show you how to use ordinary materials to make interesting rotating bamboo dragonfly toys! This is a craft I did when I was a child, so it is very simple and quick. You only need to make the ejection device and a foldable bamboo dragonfly separately. Okay, kids can follow along and give it a try!~
Required materials:
2 x 12.5cm wooden sticks, 1 small hook screw, rubber band, hard plastic piece (I used the lid from the glue pack).
Tools required:
Markers, hand saw, drill and small drill bits, glue.
Take a wooden stick (diameter 1 cm), measure the mark and use a small handsaw to cut two sticks with a length of 12.5 cm.
Take one and mark itMark the center of its top and drill a hole.
Saw another wooden stick along the center line to a depth of about 2.5 cm.
As shown in the picture after completion.
Saw the grooved stick and draw a small hook on the other end.
Use a saw to cut it out and smooth it with a file and sandpaper.
Now we have finished making the stick.
Use clear plastic covers to create the wings, each wing is a 12.5cm x 3cm rectangle with a cutaway corner on one side.
Note: The dotted lines will be used for folding, do not cut!!
Cut it, fold it as shown and stick it with transparent tape.
Then fold one wing according to the dotted line, and use the same method to make another wing.
As shown in the picture above, the wings should fold in two different directions.
Insert the wing into the cutout previously made on one of the sticks and apply a small amount of glue.
Insert a hook screw into the hole in the stick and attach the strong rubber band.
You've finished making the toy.
Let’s see how to make it fly. To grab the bamboo dragonfly, the hook should be facing downwards.
Then grab the other stick with your other hand and put the rubber band on the hook. Unzip the rubber band, aim at the sky and shoot. Since we folded the wings, the helicopter will fly and spin in the air until it falls to the ground~
