The bamboo dragonfly is one of the traditional Chinese folk childrens toys. It can also be seen in the Japanese cartoon "Doraemon". The bamboo dragonfly consists of two parts: the bamboo handle and the "wings". When playing, rub your hands together or loosen your hands, and the bamboo dragonfly will fly into the sky and spin for a while before falling down. Sharing a simple DIY method for making bamboo dragonflies, let’s take a look~
Prepare the ice cream stick, toothpick and utility knife, and cut the ice cream stick into appropriate length.
Find the midpoint of the ice cream stick, make a mark, and use a utility knife to make arcs at both ends of the ice cream stick.
Put off half of the thickness on both sides of the ice cream stick. Note that the shaved edges are opposite to create the propeller structure of the bamboo dragonfly.
Poke a small hole in the center of the ice cream stick and insert the toothpick.
The simple version of the bamboo dragonfly is finished, you can play with it and try out the effect~
