After MB&F and L'Epee jointly created a robot clock Melchior last year, MB&F created a tank robot clock Sherman this year, with L'Epée 1839 eight-in-a-row Based on a Japanese movement, it ensures that the Sherman runs accurately for 7 days before needing to be wound. The mainspring barrel bridge extends downward to support its tracks, the movement spacers serve as shoulders for the arms, and its eyes are the bolt heads that support the regulator. The main board of the movement and the bridge of the clock also form the skeleton and torso of the robot.
The Sherman movement also has the configuration and craftsmanship of a top-notch watch: Geneva waves, chamfering, polishing, sandblasting, rotating circles and vertical satin finishing. However, polishing and finishing larger movement parts is more difficult than on a regular wristwatch due to its larger surface.
