Recently, the world’s first solar road in Cromenie, the Netherlands, was officially opened. The road, which is 230 feet long, is a bicycle path designed by SolaRoad. It is currently in the testing phase and is expected to take three years to test. This solar road is composed of concrete modules with built-in solar cells and is paved with tempered glass. According to the company, the electricity generated by this solar road can power traffic lights, street lights and surrounding residents.
