Super cute and eco-friendly plant bag that you can decorate any porch or fence with!
With almost no need to provide additional space, how interesting is it to see a flower pot like this on a cold fence?
It costs almost no money, just use the old sweaters at home. A super simple transformation of old clothes that can be completed quickly with only the most basic needlework. I hope you like it too!~
You will need:
Old sweater
Needle and Thread
Steel wire
Scissors
Pliers
1. No need to buy, I'm sure you can find a few old wool sweaters that you're not happy with.
2. Throw them in the washing machine. Give them a good wash using hot water and a little laundry detergent.
3. Check the sweater every 10 minutes or so. We don’t want the sweater to be over felted and become super thick.
4. After washing, hang the clothes to dry or lay them flat on a towel. This may take a day!
5. Next, cut a section out of the sweater, measuring approximately 6 x 15 inches.
6. Fold the cut part over and sew the overlapping edges with needle thread. Also sew at the bottom seam.
7. Sew buttons on the pouch as an embellishment, making this flower pot bag more beautiful with just a few clicks.
8. Cut a piece of steel wire about 24 inches long. Tie the two ends of it into both sides of the sweater bag and twist to secure. Make sure the wire anchor point is about an inch from the top of the bag.
9. Take out a small plastic bag, which should be about the same size as a sweater bag. Cut small holes in the bottom of it. I like the ones with a sealing mechanism, which makes adding soil and plants easier.
10. Fill a plastic bag with potting soil and place it in a sweater bag. Extend the top of the plastic bag out of the sweater bag and fold it down.
11. Plant the plants and use steel wire to create a hanging structure. Now you can hang it wherever you want!
Note: If the plant is placed outdoors, you can water the plant while it is still in the bag. Excess water will drip out from the bottom, but some water will be absorbed by the wool~
