If you are in New York and need to buy something from a convenience store, you might as well consider 8 ‘Til Late, a pop-up grocery store opened by British artist Lucy Sparrow!
This pop-up grocery store located in a design hotel in Manhattan is not much different from an ordinary convenience store at first glance, but it has a nostalgic atmosphere that was common in childhood. The display shelves in the store are full of products. The floors are stacked to the ceiling, and everything from breakfast cereals to deli cabinets filled with meats to frozen foods, sodas and other beverages are all available. However, these foods are all made of felt, so they look more like handicrafts. Warm texture.
Over the past few years, Sparrow has exhibited in galleries and art festivals around the world, and 8 'Til Late is very similar in concept to his 2014 installation The Corner Shop in London, except that it was placed in the store at the time. All are European products. Now that we are stationed in New York, the products in the store have naturally been adjusted, and we have followed the customs when entering the country.
8 'Til Late will be on display from June 5th, and the business hours are from 10 am to 8 pm every day. It was originally planned to be on display until June 30th, but perhaps because the business is so good, almost all products They are all sold out, so Sparrow recently announced that 8 'Til Late will only be open until June 21st.
