Recently, Liu Hairong, a "Qiao Niang from Kyoto" who lives in Mulin Town, Shunyi, spent 10 days carefully cutting out a 60-centimeter-long paper-cut work "Flowers in Bloom to Welcome the National Day", expressing a Ordinary villagers’ blessings for the Flower Expo and the birthday of the motherland.


This paper-cut by Liu Hairong is rich in content. In the 60-centimeter-long work, the 16 large characters "Warmly celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China" are very eye-catching. The work includes lanterns, Tiananmen Square, singing and dancing people of all ethnic groups, and Various floral patterns, etc. It is worth mentioning that Liu Hairong also incorporated the giant flower umbrellas that are representative of the main exhibition hall of the Flower Expo into his works.

The paper-cutting will be unveiled at the "October Golden Autumn" cultural event in our district. Currently, Liu Hairong has completed a large-scale series of paper-cuttings "The East is Red", "Jiangshan Duojiao", "Spring Story", and "Into the New Era" , "Ode to the Motherland" and other works, dedicated to the 60th birthday of New China.
