The paper sculptures created by Barcelona paper artist Raya Sader Bujana and photographer Leo García Mendez are based on the theme of the Olympics, showing the strength and beauty of athletes!
Raya Sader Bujana hand-carved the outlines of the athletes. Each doll is composed of 150 pieces of paper and hundreds of connectors that are only 3 mm thick. More than a hundred pieces of paper are stacked layer by layer to form a three-dimensional shape. The paper sculptures not only depict the strong bodies of the athletes, but even the texture of the muscles seems to be looming. The athletes are riding bicycles, kicking, or preparing to serve or throw darts. The static sculptures are full of dynamic energy, as if they are ready at any time. We have to rush forward and move towards the gold medal!
