It is really difficult to control. But for paper-cut artist Bovey Lee, writing is probably just a piece of cake. He even You can use rice paper to carve out a picture of urban life on the east and west coasts of the United States!
The works of paper-cut artist Bovey Lee have always followed a graceful and meticulous line. At the beginning of last year, he moved from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles. The changes he experienced in life and emotions were not just as simple as moving from the East Coast to the West Coast. , Bovey condensed the differences in life between the two places in his creations, integrating uphill, downhill, rotating, and swinging roller coasters that are more dizzying than nine twists and turns, depicting the hugeness of his life experience. The change is refreshing.
In the work titled Eternity – The Rescuer, Bovey cut out a roller coaster on traditional Chinese rice paper that almost flew off the track, and strung together romantic symbols such as bouquets, wedding cakes, and engagement rings, as well as Luggage, city silhouettes and other realities faced in life subtly bring into play the essence of emotions and interpersonal relationships. In a relationship, people always seek balance, permanence, stability and harmony. However, in real life, it is naturally rugged, bumpy and full of twists and changes. However, it is also because of these ups and downs, trials and errors that we can achieve success. When people discover the beauty, energy, excitement, and even the imperfections hidden in it, they can still be talked about and recalled long after.
Bovey’s works will be exhibited at Gavlak Gallery from January 9th, under the name Divertical. Bovey chose the world’s tallest water roller coaster as the exhibition title, perhaps just to tell everyone that in the constant screaming and In the madness, we are constantly challenging and exceeding our potential. Every time we dive downward, we can accumulate the energy for the next upward sprint, and then continue to be wonderful!
