Each fashion designers clothing style reflects her personal taste to some extent. Arielle Mermin, a designer born in Los Angeles, currently lives in New Zealand. Her love for bohemian style can be seen from her clothing style, and she combines it with some retro elements to create her own personal characteristics.
Arielle Mermins home in the North Island of New Zealand is in a very quiet area, surrounded by many wild birds and lush green trees. She likes that this place has a natural feel and that there are many people from different countries living nearby, so it creates an atmosphere of exotic fusion. Coupled with the unique local surfing atmosphere, the area is full of diverse cultures.
Her current residence was built and renovated in the 1960s. The interior style combines the laziness of Los Angeles, the retro nostalgia of San Francisco, the exquisite art of Europe and the passionate surfing elements of the Southern Hemisphere.
Most of the decoration materials are recycled and reused. For example, the kitchen worktop and the bathtub in the bathroom are second-hand recycling, or are artworks made by my mother and relics left by my father. Walking into this home space, there is a lot of natural light entering the house, green plants, and exotic textiles; the backyard is also decorated with surfboards and some chickens are raised, making the whole space full of a bohemian feel. Mias spontaneity and romance are like returning to California, which can relieve homesickness.
