Discarded CDs can be transformed into curtains, but if thousands of CDs are strung together, will they still look so beautiful? The art studio Bignatov Studios planned an event "Mirror Culture" and invited More than 100 volunteers worked together to create a giant curtain. The curtain shone with colorful lights in the wind and sunshine. It was not only dazzling and beautiful, but also became a new local public installation art.
There were about 128 people participating that day. Everyone worked hard at the entrance of Sea Garden to complete this large curtain. It is said that more than 6,000 discs were used in total, and an average of 47 discs were handled by one person. The amount is not small. Ah!
The concept of "Mirror Culture" is very simple. In fact, it is the common DVD stringing on DIY websites, but the focus is on the interaction between the participants during the stringing process, because these volunteers do not know each other, and some They were local residents, and some were tourists passing by. They stood side by side, picked up special extra-large fishing nets, and strung the discs together. Needless to say, the process was chaotic!
The entire creation took place in the Varna region of Bulgaria near the Black Sea. There is a historic park called Sea Garden. The completed "Mirror Culture" is hung at the entrance, and the rippling visual effect is like a sea. , echoing the harbor style of Varna, not only attracting more tourists, but also a public art with local characteristics for residents. It can be said to be a very successful art activity!
It’s really beautiful when viewed through the blue sky!
